Go 3D has a vast variety of different types of filaments, there is no shortage of selection. Here at Go 3D, we have got you covered. If you’re after ABS filament, we’ve got it. If you’re after PLA, we’ve got it and so on.
One of the brands of filament available in which you can purchase from us is from a company called Verbatim and one of the most popular filament types people tend to go for is PLA.
Verbatim is a company that manufactures all sorts of products related to technology and has been around for well over 40 years. They sell USB flash drives, blank CD and DVD’s etc; they also sell 3d printer filament.
Verbatim is one of those businesses that deliver high-quality products to their customers. Just like Verbatim, Go 3D only offers the highest quality 3D printer filament.
The main idea of this article is to give the people, such as you, an overall idea of what this popular filament is like, it’s properties and so on. This will be a handy guide for you if you are a bit of a newbie to the world of 3d printing and are looking for something with all the key info that you need to know before deciding whether or not you should get some PLA filament.
Verbatim’s PLA filament is a product that leaves a nice, shiny finish at the end of its print cycle. Its aesthetic properties are what attract many people. It provides a much more detailed print than if you were printing with ABS for example. Another one of the most popular filaments is ABS filament which is strong and durable like PLA filament, but it just doesn’t produce the clean, shiny finish. ABS filament, however, makes up for this with its remarkable strength and durability.
Another reason people like to use PLA filament is that it is less likely than other filaments to get clogged up and stuck in the nozzle; this makes printing a lot with this particular filament easier than others.
Drawbacks of Printing with PLA Filament
No one can really expect a product that is 100% beneficial with no cons whatsoever and that makes Verbatim no different. However, the pros of Verbatim 3d printer filament far way out the cons.
- Bed temperature needs to be set at now lower than 80 degrees Celsius.
- Strong, but not as sturdy as ABS.
- Not safe for food-related purposes.
- Can print out quite brittle.
Recommended Printer Settings
-The recommended printing temperature for this type of filament ranges from 189 degrees Celsius to 205 degrees Celsius. It is best to have a play around to find which temperature suits you and your needs.
-To help the first layer’s adhesion, it is a good idea to have a heated bed between 40-50 degrees Celsius.
-Although you do not have to use a heated bed when printing with PLA, it’s important to note that if you do use a heated bed, your print will come out better and hold together better too.
Note: If you are printing at a nozzle temperature that is way too high, you will find that your print may come out too soft and flimsy.
